Re: Mx3 Problems... HELP! :(
Sorry mate, had my exhaust done by a shop and they just piped straight thru the cat so my cat is just there for looks only lol. Fuel injector cleaner is bulls--- imo. It can never recover a very bad injector properly and if it's not in that bad of a condition, then the injector cleaner won't make mu...

Re: Mx3 Problems... HELP! :(
Might be shitty fuel injectors? Not sure, but that can cause bad fuel consumption and the smell of unburnt fuel. If they're stuffed, it would spray a poor amount of fuel and the O2 sensor would pick up on the lean mix and then make the injector shoot more fuel in. Since the injector might be screwed...

Re: KLZE questions, need the pro's
Wow nice stuff mate. Good to see a thread with the discussion and results posted all in one shot. How does it drive? Do you have to run it in for long? I hear heaps of ppl saying to run it in but it's a used engine so surely you'd think after a couple hundred kms it'd be fine to let the lead foot do...

Re: Reliability ... K8 , KLDE , KLZE
Constantly over 6500? That will screw a ZE I've read a fair bit. Dunno why the hell you'd need to even consider going beyond 6000 in a ZE. It loses all it's power the higher you go. I reckon in a 400m run or 1/4 mile as you guys call it, you'd get times close (perhaps better) if you shifted @ someth...

MX6 Gearbox with KLZE swap + drive shafts
Hello, I have a Eunos 30x (MX3) and it's done almost 230,000kms (>120,000 miles). The timing belt needs to be replaced and the CV joints make slight crackling noises when turning. My gearbox doesn't shift as smoothly as I'd like it to (worst from 1st to 2nd). I just changed the oil in it too and has...
Re: Stranded
Lol, sorry late reply but found this thread and had a similar thing with the keys locked in the car. Mine also llocks itself when the ignition is on - sounds like a great thing to have but really it almost fu*ked me twice! Once I did what you did, locked it in, but had bonnet up and disconnected bat...

Re: high rpms in 5th
City driving would be far more efficient than highway, it's just that city is always stop start and highway is non stop. If you drove @ like 60-80KMPH non stop, your fuel economy would probably be around 5-6 litres per 100kms. So technically highway driving is far less efficient, it's just because y...

Re: high rpms in 5th
3200 -3500 sounds about right for the 30x/MX-3 when going 100-110 KMPH. Unfortunately it doesn't make it the most quiet or fuel efficient car if you wanted to cruise around @ 130KMPH. Also, if you put a gearbox in with lower ratios, you'd rev far less but the car would go absolutely nowhere since a ...

Eunos 30x engine swap - a load of questions :P
Hi, I live in Australia and I recently got myself a 30x/MX-3. I have a few questions about modifying it a bit and perhaps doing an engine swap. I have the standard 1.8 litre engine and it's done about 200 clicks. I was thinking that I'd just drive it around and if there were any major engine issues ...
