Re: Probe Engine Into An Mx-3?
Yeah if you think you can swap another 1.8L engine in, there's no reason you can't put a 2.5L engine in.

Re: Just finished my ZE swap - but not much power
Any ideas? My disty wires (from the 6 pin plug and 3 pin plug) look raped. I am considering replacing my wires on the harness in those spots and changing the disty. Then I will set the timing I am going to replace the throttle body gasket as the old one is screwed (doesn't seem to leak but still...)...

Re: ecu help
I would avoid swapping wiring harness.... would be an absolute prick then you will definitely run into other problems such as the wiring being the wrong way on the distributor etc. In some years the wires are swapped. Getting an OBDII ECU should be the easiest bet. Take a ride down to some wreckers ...

Re: ecu help
I would still be searching for an OBDII ECU from a probe, mx6 etc. Then using the air flow sensor from that also. Can't see why it wouldn't work. If your car is also OBDII, then it should. Another option is to find a MX6 etc and steal the entire wiring loom, disty, and ECU from it. Try borrow an OBD...

Re: ecu help
So your wiring loom is OBDII? Simple, go and get a 1996 ECU for a Probe, MX6, 626, Telstar etc which is OBDII and use that. Also use the KL02 air flow sensor. Then it will run much better. Just saw ND4SPDs response... I dunno if this is 100% true. Time for you to research and see what the deal is. A...

Re: done KLZE swap.. overfueling on initial startup.. rough idle
You should be able to use the JE50. I personally met up the guy who did my chip. At least try to get in contact with someone if possible. If you plan to chip it yourself, you better be good at soldering and whatnot. Also, some ECU are not compatible so you gotta make sure before you go out and purc...

Re: Just finished my ZE swap - but not much power
You're idle is too low if its 550-600, which is why your car stalls w/o gas...it should be closer to 700. You have the curve neck intake or straight neck on it right now? What was on it to begin with? If its the curve neck to begin with it has the kl03 cams that will make more power down low, rathe...

Re: Just finished my ZE swap - but not much power
Update: Am now running a chipped eprom in the ECU so it should be acting like a ZE ECU. JE50 VAF MX6 Gearbox Have changed oil to semi synthetic and ran engine for about 500kms - now done about 800-900kms Power problem. Not a massive difference unfortunately over the K8 ECU. Power is smoother, idle i...

Re: final drive..
I have swapped to a 4.11 tranny from a MX6 for my ZE swap. It's geared better in general for the more powerful motor.
It's the simplest solution. Instead of 4000 RPM you will be going @ 3500. Not a big difference... but over long distance it will save fuel.

Re: comtemplating a new motor, options inside :x
Well one option is to find a cheap motor with all the accessories. At least then you can swap the disty + alternator to see if they fix your problems. Then do a complete swap when your engine totally goes. I would personally not go below a KLDE but for $250.... if you got a good KFDE, that's cheap. ...

Re: head swaps frankenstein
This is somewhat true, however, if you have a small head, then there's less to "catch" during your "revolutions" thus rendering a less than optimal experience. It needs to be a balance between head and shaft size. One exaggerated size compared to the other isn't optimal. ... Or ...

Re: Oil Flushing - Diesel ATF
Fowljesse, it's alright I don't hold grudges. I thought you were having a go. I used the search function though, none of the results really give much useful info about ATF or Diesel, none had before or after pics, none really had feedback from people who did it. That's why I made the thread. I have ...
