Re: Uber low idle when warmed up.
Thus the whole reason people say you must put it into diagnostics mode. When you put it in diag mode, it disables the computer from making changes. So you can then adjust timing and idle etc. If you don't put a jumper wire between TEN and GND then the ECU will correct any settings. I think you shoul...

Re: back again with more problemz
You will just hear a click click click, no starter or anything. But I guess you could say it does do something. Other cars show no signs of life.chrome730 wrote:possible that the battery may be dead cuz i talked to one of my buddies and he said mazda's still try to start wit a dead battery true or false

Re: Uber low idle when warmed up.
Have you shorted out TEN and GND in the diagnostics box and then turned the idle up a bit? Or wont that work?

Re: Rebuilding A KLZE
You think they would make more than 5HP just from being flat top? I highly doubt it. I would assume the cams and IM give it that extra power up high. Then with high octane fuel and the tweaked ECU it makes that extra 25-30HP.

Re: Timing and ZE also blowing smoke
Just to update, I topped up my oil so it reads full on the dip stick. Now I am going to wait and see if it goes down. I noticed today when I floored it in second, and pretty much stayed in 2nd gear up to about 80kmph and then let the car slow itself down, when I came almost to a complete stop smoke ...

Re: Rebuilding A KLZE
Are there any other good online stores that sell ZE stuff? I'm guessing you could use DE pistons without much of a difference in power. The main power comes from the ECU, use of premium petrol, different cams, different intake manifold. Flat top pistons would give you what? 5hp absolute max if you'r...

Re: Replacing water pump 1996 mx3
Well the good thing about our cars is they're non interference. You can get away with aftermarket stuff and you should not have a problem. I'm always checking my oil level, coolant level and temp gauge. If you do that, there's not too much to worry about :D If our cars were interference engines thou...

Re: Replacing water pump 1996 mx3
Sorry to go against your opinion here, Daninski, but most of the Ebay ones are GMB water pumps. I went to a local store and got a brand new pump for about $100 AUD. Ended up being made by GMB, despite the brand name being different. It seems GMB make water pumps and many companies re-badge them. Gen...

Re: gasket kit off ebay
I've seen a couple places on ebay called Eristic gaskets, which seem like they're made in USA? I've also visited Import Performance who list a fairly large range of places who make gasket kits. They seem like performance gasket kits, not sure if anyone has ever used any. I think for easy stuff you c...

Re: HEI Mod problem.....won't run?
cool, I saved that image. Btw, repaired my plugs at work today. Plugged them all back in and took off the HEI, fired up the car and it started. Now I've pretty much done exactly what I've been told (not using ext coil for your info) and with the HEI it just does not fire when I remove that orange wi...

Re: Finally, WOT!
Yeah that's what I am wondering because there's crap loads over here with SR20's stock standard. They weigh maybe a little more than our cars but have as much power stock as a ZE does.
Off boost we can nail them but once they hit boost it's hard to keep up, especially if it's been modded.

Re: HEI Mod problem.....won't run?
OH...you're just trying to get the stock disty to work with an HEI module... Extend the orange wire to the HEI module. The red wire from the 3 pin is coil +ve and the blue is coil -ve. Extend them to the appropriate pins on the HEI module without cutting them from the harness. They still need to co...
