Re: WHICH KLZE IS BEST FOR MX3

Actually I did read you correctly and was stating the DIFFERENCES between a DE vs ZE, if you would READ what I said. Runners DO make a difference. Larger ports = more airflow = more power. Retainers - they are different on a ZE, and yes Im aware the DE's are better thats why I used them in the ZE I...

Re: WHICH KLZE IS BEST FOR MX3

LMAO!! Please tell me you're joking.. because your absolutley WRONG. Lets see. DE VS ZE ZE has BIGGER RUNNERS (unless your referring to SOME DE's that had ZE heads, and it was a Millenia DE/ZE Hybrid) ZE has DIFFERENT VALVE RETAINERS ZE has DIFFERENT HEADS (unless your referring to SOME DE's that h...

Re: Might be a KLZE!

Dude stop, wtf are you saying that you are going to sell the gearbox? Leave it on when you pull the motor and keep that gearbox, it's designed for the ZE and is better IMO than the K8. Pull the motor with gearbox attached, change the timing belts just in case, then slam it in and have fun. Btw, not ...

Re: WHICH KLZE IS BEST FOR MX3

Curved neck is not a true ZE IMO. It's just the Eunos 800 2.5L KLDE that has a few little minor details that give it about 3-4KW more power (5-6 HP). The straight neck is the true ZE with the better cams. Honestly, there's not much difference - just get the best cleanest looking one. A crap ZE will ...

Re: Wickedly rich

Chip, make sure you have the right VAF also. Then I would suggest changing the O2 sensors.

Re: Another "HELP ME" Thread

They changed the wiring on different year distys. I have a 1995 and recently used my friends 94 probe disty, it would crank but not start. We had to swap two wires around on the 3 pin plug going to the disty. Then it worked fine. Apart from that, all distys can be used on any K series engine. You ju...

Re: KL31 ecu

I'm pretty sure there is a such thing as a OBDII KLZE ECU. KL62 or something like that.

You can always try an OBDII MX6 ECU with KL02 VAF. That would go way better than a K8 ECU.

Or you can swap wiring loom and use KL31/36.

Re: Stalling - Lightweight flywheel problem?

Isn't it true though, that you lose some torque on small engines with a light flywheel? Our engines, even the mighty ZE cannot be considered big V6. Most V6s here in Australia are 3.5L or bigger. I wouldn't mind hearing from someone who's had both flywheels in a ZE. I have a DE MX6 for comparison, w...

Re: Stalling - Lightweight flywheel problem?

Sorry jesse when you say you have the OEM, do you mean the KLZE/DE OEM or the MX3 OEM?

But yeah, I get serious vibration and stuttering when let go of the clutch slowly. I am almost regretting the use of my MX3 flywheel.

Stalling - Lightweight flywheel problem?

I am bothered that my ZE MX3 seems to want to stall when you let the clutch out slowly, without giving it any throttle at all. I thought something might be wrong but I met up with a friend who has a Probe ZE and he has the same issue. He said it's because we're using the MX3 flywheel and it's too li...

Re: swap ideas..

KLDE FTW. And if you get the bug, you can build an MX-3 (like mine) that will beat the stock RX8 in every way, for less than the RX8 cost, and get better mileage. Even around the corners? That's a tough accomplishment for an FWD car to beat an RX8 (which was designed for great cornering abilities) ...

Re: swap ideas..

Have an RX8 for power eh? As far as I know, the ZE makes more torque than an RX8 and earlier in the rev range. MX3 is also lighter. So if you got a nice healthy ZE, it'd be very very close to your RX8 in terms of straight line performance. No one is going to argue that the RX8 is far far better arou...

Re: back again with more problemz

ok um what if i charged the battery before and it still doesnt work If you charged it up and it makes no clicks or no spark, then there's something very wrong. Could be the disty not providing spark. I would eliminate the battery being the problem by trying it in another car. If the other car start...

Re: Rebuilding A KLZE

can u give me a estimate on around how much it would cost for all the parts to rebuild If you did it yourself? Probably anywhere betweeb 1500-3000. I can see Piston rings, pistons, oil pump, gasket kits, timing belt kits being not that expensive if you got after market. But if you get OEM it could ...
