Re: After market fpr stock k8
yeah I got 10 WHP by going from a chipped ECU to the KL36. If someone can make a better dyno proven chipset then that would be more desirable. and a chip is a lot cheaper than an entire ECU would be. How many whp do you have? Edit: I see, 168.9whp with a KL36 wonder if there is any power difference...

Re: KLZE Straight Neck
I'd suggest staying away from probinator. Not to bad mouth the product or anything but the simple fact is it's a KLDE map with ridiculous timing on the last line of the map (100% throttle). Timing goes to 36-37 fairly early on. It's been proven that 27-29 degrees makes best power for these engines. ...

Re: Time to spend money on a proper exhaust setup?
Actually I did some reading today and found posey92 is probably on the money with some of his comments. Even properly done mandrels are only marginally better than crush bends and it applies mostly to sharp bends. I don't think we have anything more than a 90 degree bend on our cars. Other thing is ...

Re: After market fpr stock k8
I am doing the tune first and testing it out fully with dyno proof. Then I want someone here to also be a tester for us, then once it's 100% confirmed good my friend Stoker100 will flash chips and sell them. He doesn't think there will be much interest but I think there will be if I can dyno prove a...

Re: KLZE Straight Neck
Thank for the info guys! So if I'm understanding my research correctly, the klze will function ok with k8 ecu and k8 vaf but to get it running to 'full' potential it is the kl31/36 ecu and the k8 vaf works with that? Unless i get a klde ecu and run a kl02 vaf? And how can you tell the difference in...

Re: After market fpr stock k8
At light throttle the stock ecus should be aiming for 14.7 afr. 13 is where best power is but I'd rather save fuel if cruising. I'll be doing a lot of testing in the coming months once the wideband is complete. I'm mostly going to mess with max throttle afr and timing since I think the stock ecu is ...

Re: After market fpr stock k8
Yes, I made thread about it a while ago showing various maps and other people's chips, stock ones etc.
Currently fitting a wideband too so it can all be done as accurately as possible. viewtopic.php?f=15&t=81294

Time to spend money on a proper exhaust setup?
I had my exhaust done when the K8 was in a long time ago. It was apparently a mandrel bent 2.25 inch system. Installed my wideband bung today and upon taking apart the exhaust, I see it looks very small and press bent.... My question - I have a test pipe at the moment but would a hi flow cat on prop...

Re: Milennia motor
well they all have kl01 cams. the kl01 heads are mis matched to the intake manifold which has square ports. but kl01 heads have a supposed stronger valve train so you could run higher lift camshafts without Issues. I'd just pick the best looking cleanest motor. shine a torch in the oil cap hole and ...

Re: After market fpr stock k8
Who makes chips run lean at lower rpm? fpr is a bad way to remedy that, if its even true.
I'm installing my wideband today to read afr and change the stock timing and fuel map on the kl31 ecu.

Re: After market fpr stock k8
Nope. I don't even see why anyone needs one running N/A. Especially not for a K8 lol. Maybe a boosted KL with a faster fuel pump and bigger injectors etc.

Re: KLZE Straight Neck
I was running a straight neck as I'm right hand drive and had none of the issues. It is annoying unless you have battery relocation though as the intake piping needs a steep custom made bend to avoid the battery.
I opted for the curve neck manifold.

As in a 4.11 final drive or 4.388 final drive?
Going 60mph the 4.11 will be close to or under 3k rpms. The 4.388 will be well over 3k rpms lol.

Re: No Emissions Required
Yeah you can buy a block off plate or cut something out and stick it over if you want. I think I bought one online for $5 though  Deleting the EGR will simply free up a tiny tiny bit of power but also will free up more space in the engine bay and reduce the amount of vacuum lines running around...

Re: Is the KLZE Really Worth The Money
I like to play devils advocate.... Skip the KLDE/ZE.... straight up KLG4... No ticky ticky HLA,s No crappy Dizzy to worry about.. Hardest part is getting the right factory ECU... you have full OBD2 data logging capabilities.. Smoother running motor, easier to diagnose... OEM sensors/ford based EDIS...
