If you cant find an oil specific for running in - probably a slightly thicker than normal mineral oil. Like a 10W-40 mineral oil (reason I say that is 40 weight oil is allowed to have more zddp in it). Don't use synthetic.icajewler wrote:So when I stick my newly rebuilt KL in, what break in oil should I use?

Re: Help New Check Engine Code
http://forums.beyond.ca/showthread/t-47452.html There's plenty of info there on that link, it has some of the most useful info I've come across regarding codes. You could have a bad igniter causing it. I'd clean and reconnect the big disty connecter. Then I'd even remove the crankshaft sensor near t...

Removing EGR reduces MPG??
If you removed all of it and capped off the vacuum hoses it should still run fine.

Very interesting, guess what oil I used to run in my engine rebuild for 500kms? (I just looked it up) http://www.penriteoil.com.au/engineoils-products.php?id_categ=1&id_products=397 http://www.penriteoil.com.au/tech_pdfs/4192%20February%202014%20-%20Automotive%20Engine%20Oil%20Summary.pdf - The ...

Sorry I only just saw this; better to reply late than never! http://forums.probetalk.com/showthread.php?p=1924146229#post1924146229 Stoker100 and I figured it out using a dial back timing light. I'm currently mucking around with advancing timing on my stock ECU via an Eprom tuner. Definitely can say...

Re: KLZE Straight Neck
Thank for the info guys! So if I'm understanding my research correctly, the klze will function ok with k8 ecu and k8 vaf but to get it running to 'full' potential it is the kl31/36 ecu and the k8 vaf works with that? Unless i get a klde ecu and run a kl02 vaf? And how can you tell the difference in...

Re: Obsolete oil, Modern oil and oil additives, a good read.
Interesting thread. I've read about a few KL builds going bad, but they are few and far between. Not many people remember when someone rebuilds and had no issues compared to very memorable pictures of destroyed KL engines  I've rebuilt my KL31 and it's done approx 35,000kms on the rebuild. Runn...

So after replacing coolant sensor Im running 25mpg. Also wideband is installed. 14.3 cruise and idle. 13.5 Wot Have you logged anything at all? I've got logging software with mine, so far struggling to change to fuel ratios. I'm not even sure they can be changed on the stock ecu. Seems to run at ar...

Hmmm you're right it is more curved than yours. I think yours is better, just looks tighter coming inwards and more like it belongs on the car.

So this pic here, I would just grab the spoiler and mini spoiler (garnish) below it and that should work good eh?

I still have my Mx6 seats in the shed lol
My stock seats are getting worn down like hell. Going to have to do something soon. Can't find any leather MX-3 seats here.

Love the car man.
How does the rear spoiler work? I might have found one here in australia, very rare! Do I need to remove my old wrap around spoiler and put that on? Is it two piece (looks like another one below it)?
