When i reset the timming i used a timming lite and it said it had the rite timming. The check engine light isnt coming on at all either would i still have codes that could be checked autozone said they dont have computer code reader that will work with a 94. What do i do now.

I have a 94 mx-3 1.6L dohc and just had the head machined and the valves seales replaced. Also had all the top end gaskets replaced and the distributer assemble w/wires. Got all that done and reset the timming and it is running weird. It smokes at start up and it smells like it is running rich and w...

Im curious what motors will fit into a 94 1.6L dohc mx-3? I want a motor that i can just take my old motor out and just put in another one without changing a bunch of crap.

It sounds to me like it is your cv joints going bad my car did the same thing and i changed the whole cv halfshaft and it hasnt done it since.

I have my head off of my 94 mx3 1.6 and when i put my head back on do i have to get new headbolts to put it back on or can i use the old ones. Cause the cheapest head bolts i have found are $104.

i have a 94 mx3 1.6litre dohc and when my mechanic pulled the head off he said it looked like it was out of time just a little bit. Could that cause it to smoke at all or lose power?

That is what i thought to. I talked to an engine rebuilder and he said it probably wasnt the valve guides. He said that he hasnt seen valve guides go bad in that motor before. He said that they dont really ware out. So u think it could be rings or valve seals?
