OK I see what your saying. The rotor cam is different but, the blade on the back of the disty is different also. Their is a big and small shaft (blade) size distys. The firing order on your disty is correct.
The online manual is wrong.

It might be your disty, mine acted the same way with lose of power.

The firing order in the online manual is wrong.
You can ask customMX or alien dude.
The order you have it in is correct.

How about your disty, mine acted like yours (minus the backfiring)
and it was the disty.

I have the same problem on occasion, I think it is normal. I can tell you what I do and it works for me. I release the emergency brake and let it roll back just a little. Then hold the brake down to stop it. Then it will normaly go into reverse. If I'm not on an incline I just have to really slam it...

Thanks for everyone's help. I returned the disty today and changed it out with a new one. I cranked right up no problem. I bypassed the CPU. I marked the pully with chalk and set the timing. I have a 94 DOHC MX-3 (B6) 1.6 Liter 4CYL. It was diagnosed with a bad distributor by a reapir shop.
