It is a different rotor button for the large disty. THey look the same but just a little bigger. Take all parts with you and compare everthing with the new parts. Also if your part stores are like mine, they don't carry the gasket for the disty. ONLY the MAZA carries it. Just buy some gasket sealer,...

OK I see what your saying. The rotor cam is different but, the blade on the back of the disty is different also. Their is a big and small shaft (blade) size distys. That is why the rotor buttons are different sizes, due to the shaft (blade) size being different. My disty shaft fits all the way in th...

Yeah the mechanic told me that both would fit, so I got the small to start with too. So I thought that I totaly screwed somthing up the way it was pinging. Then I went ahead and traded it out for the large one and that did it. They both fit, but that small one ain't right for our cars. Make sure you...

Well this was my expeirience with the disty. The disty comes in two shaft sizes. (small and large) I originaly got the small shaft size and installed it. My car pinged very loudly and sounded like it was about to crap out. Then I took it back and got the large size disty and installed it. Set the ti...

Help a brother out! My A/C has got the squeel.
If you turn on the A/C it blows very cold air. Then it squeels very loud and the air blows out air temp. If I play with the A/C button or the fan switch it will stop squeeling for a little while (5 minutes). Whenever it squeels the air goes warm. I'm talking loud squeel too. People are probaly think...

I have the same problem on occasion, I think it is normal. I can tell you what I do and it works for me. I release the emergency brake and let it roll back just a little. Then hold the brake down to stop it. Then it will normaly go into reverse. If I'm not on an incline I just have to really slam it...

The two bolts you see other than the drain plug should be the bolts that mount the oil pan to the car. You crank you car for about 5-10 minutes to warm the fluid and make it runny. After you pull it onto ramps turn off engine. You take off the oil filler cap on the valve cover. Make sure you have th...

You cannot repair the disty, I found that out with mine. If it is slotted drive it is easy to replace. Disconnect the neg. on battery. Remove your cap and leave plug wires on cap. U mark the direction the rotor button is facing. THen loosen the bolts and slowy remove the disty. Take it to parts stor...

Thanks for everyone's help. I returned the disty today and changed it out with a new one. I cranked right up no problem. I bypassed the CPU. I marked the pully with chalk and set the timing. THen set the idle. It is running great. It had a little noise at first then smoothed out after ten minutes of...

Thank you for the timing instructions. I was using the one from replacing the disty and it was not near as detailed as this one. I needed to know abou the two marks. It did not mention that on the other set of instructions. Here is another crazy question? The firing order shown on the online manaul ...

I have a 94 DOHC MX-3 (B6) 1.6 Liter 4CYL. It was diagnosed with a bad distributor by a reapir shop. I reaplced the bad dist. with a remanufactured one and it started up just fine, but smoked and pinged. I thought I set the timing, but I can see two small marks on the harmonic balancer. I don't know...
