Re: 1993 MX-3 V6 ATX Reverse and Neutral not working
well codes 2 and 16 are crankshaft position sensor and egr valve respectively, these will make the car run kinda crappy but not influence reverse. as for shifting not working right you can try to adjust the neutral safety switch the procedure is here; http://www.mx-3.com/manuals/showimg.php?file=/19...

Re: Mx3 94, KLZE - Rollercoaster idle
No sence in replacing something that dosen't need to be replaced, if there is a vacuume leak its usually in the "accordian" looking hose. Spray some TB cleaner or something on the hoses and look for bubbling. vacuum leaks will not appear as bubbling as it will suck the tb cleaner into the...

Re: Transmission noise – Differential problem?
wheel bearing would have some play in and out on the wheel side, front to back is tie rod ends, the axles he mentioned are indeed the halfshafts, to check the halfshafts you look for up and down movement on the halfshaft while forcing up and down on it also try in and outward, they should be nice an...

Re: Transmission noise – Differential problem?
Drain the trans see if there is any heavy metallic dust or chunks in it, differential noise would be more pronounced when turning left or right when there is actually differential action taking place, also check the fluid level once its been refilled a few times after driving see if you are possibly...

Re: Need some help with my transmission
running a auto on a klze would not really be good as mooneggs mentioned as the friction discs are not designed to hold that kind of power whereas a 5 spd will with the right clutch, if you could get your hands on some beefed up frictions discs though you can easily run well over 200 hp on an auto. U...

Re: Need some help with my transmission
I just wanted to add that he can keep the automatic if he has it, if the trans is shifting fine then just do a good fluid/filter change and upgrade the trans cooler, the auto trans on the klde is the same as the k8, if you really want to get the most out of the trans also add an inline filter kit.

Re: 1993 MX-3 V6 ATX Reverse and Neutral not working
first thing to check is the fluid condition and level, thats number 1 priority. The second is to try shifting the car in gear by hand, if you get reverse out of that then you know its just the shift cable being out of adjustment, if you do not get reverse that way then its time to start looking for ...

Re: Open diff 2 wheel burnout?
what pox said, if both wheels have equal traction then both will spin at the same rate, while cornering its a different matter the outer wheel spins faster than the inner wheel due to differential action and the weight is not evenly distributed making one wheel have more traction than the other. To ...

Re: 1993 MX-3 V6 ATX Reverse and Neutral not working
Ok here is what to check; 1) fluid level and condition, get the engine fully warmed up then with the engine running check the fluid level, if its not full top it up. Also check the fluid condition it should be bright red if its dark red or worse (dark brown or black) then it and the filter need to b...

Re: How to replace clutch in 4 cyl?
there are tons of write ups on it, use the search button man. Simple breakdown; 1) Jack the car up and put it on jack stands. 2) Remove the intake tubing. 3) Remove the clutch slave and set aside 4) Remove the 2 front tires and cv axles from both sides 5) Put a jack under the engine to support the w...
