Re: gauge install
10 amp should suffice, if not then you can use the 10 amp add a fuse to turn the relay on/off with the key and wire the constant power to battery with a 15 or 20 amp inline fuse there.

Re: auto gs/rs shift assembly compatibility
if you are having the hold light come on the very first thing I would do it check and replace the atf and filter as this can correct many issues with the automatics, in addition see if it will start in any gear other than P or N, if it does then the transmission range switch/neutral safety switch is...

looks similar to a mazdaspeed protege, interesting concept, the overall look would require some tweaking of a 626 though.

Re: hesitation engine or transmission
its not beyond the realm of possibility, but its an oddity to have one on an auto trans, if there is count yourself lucky and use it, either way though you will need to drop the pan to change the filter.

Re: Aussie Christmas Rush
lol that pic is awesome, I hate douches who park in 2 spaces when they have a newer car figuring that it will be less likely to get damaged, concrete princesses with lifted pretty trucks do that s--- to, what they don't realize is that statistically they have are 65% more likely to have their vehicl...

Re: what type of gearbox is it???
if its the 4 cylinder then its most likely the f25m-r, the g series trans are much stronger than the f series trans if you are looking to swap then I would opt for the g series.

Re: hesitation engine or transmission
No there are no drain plug in the auto trans pans on these cars, you will need to unbolt the pan loosen the rear and then side bolts then with the drain pan in position you undo the front ones and that will allow it tilt to the rear so that it drains relatively mess free. There is a torque spec when...

Re: hesitation engine or transmission
you should be able to reach it from under the car the pan should be on the bottom of the trans, it needs to be removed to change the atf filter.

Re: hesitation engine or transmission
could be any number of problems, hesitation on the trans end can be the kickdown cable out of adjustment could be a loose throttle cable or fuel/spark issues. FYI the biggest killer of the auto trans on these cars is heat, the factory cooler was crap its just a pipe thats it, upgrading to a better c...
