DOHC tranny in '93 SOHC
Okay need some quick help, going to try to track down a tranny tomorrow. Just wondering if a tranny from a '94+ DOHC tranny will work in my '93 with a SOHC. My diff is shot so it is time to replace the tranny. Any and all help is always appreciated... I tried searching but did not find a clear cut a...

Re: Getting the PS Halfshaft out
Is this the green triangular shaft out the tranny? I left mine on whilst taking my engine out! No clearance issues, perhaps because I've a Uk car with no brake master in the way... My car does not have on of those, here is a picture of what I am trying to get out... http://i182.photobucket.com/albu...

Re: Getting the PS Halfshaft out
What part of Ohio are you in? Depending on how far you are dinner might have to be involved if you come down... I have started to tear down the drivers side to try the straight through approach, but not much time to work on it considering I have a 2 week old daughter in the house now. I will try to ...

Re: Getting the PS Halfshaft out
My car is a 93 SOHC, as far as I can tell there are no bolts, My car does not have an intermediate shaft at all, just the two half shafts. And I have done more than tap the chisels, I have put a prybar between them and wacked it with a 20oz framing hammer and still would not pop loose....

Getting the PS Halfshaft out
Ok here is the issue. I am trying to get the Passenger side halfshaft out of the MX3, I have the hub off, and down to getting the shaft out of the tranny. I have tried everything to get it off, I have two 3/8" chisels up there on either side of the main shaft to create space between the Tranny ...

Re: 1.6 manual tranny questions
I would say that you should just go with the vin on your car and go with that one. Also what year are you searching. There shouldn't be a SOHC listed for anything 94 or newer or a DOHC for a 93 or older. As long as you have the right year you shouldn't get the wrong tranny even if there is a differe...

Re: 93 1.6 manual issues
First off let me say that the B6 is by no means a FAST motor. you can make it quick but it will never be truely fast. That is why Limegreen swapped to a BP and also why I am going either BP or more likely KLZE. The best advice I can give you is if you just want to smoke the tires, do the simple stuf...

Re: 93 1.6 manual issues
I don't know, if I do the KLZE with lower compression pistons and a t3/t4 turbo, intake, exhaust, and megaaquirt ( or some other engine management) it should be pretty quick. while I am doing the pistons a regrind on the cams might not be a bad idea as well. As for the Cobra, my mx3 with the B6 has ...

Re: 93 1.6 manual issues
still no engine yet, tax returns possibly. but I am thinking klze right now since it is a little more power and a more indepth swap. Looking to gain a little more experience with swaps and such. but the bp hasn't been ruled out yet. either way i go with the engine, it will be boosted as well. who kn...

Re: 93 1.6 manual issues
the best advice I can give you is to flush and fill the tranny, that is what freed mine up. but shortly after that my tranny went south. and now is shot.... oh well a reason drop a KLZE and new tranny in
