Re: Drain all coolant to replace coolant temperature sensor?
There is a small wire bent around the entire outside of the plug that goes onto the sensor. You need to get in there with either a really thin flat blade screwdriver or a dentists pick to remove that wire from around the plug. There is a groove in the plug that the wire sits in. Really get a good lo...

Re: Car dies when hot, won't restart.
Is the idle bouncing around on you after the car has warmed up and you have your foot on the brakes?
I have had this problem since we got the car almost 4 years ago and cannot track down the problem. Minus the bad Coolant Temp Sensor everything else seems to be working fine.

Re: Car dies when hot, won't restart.
Next time it doesn't fire up after it is warm, just try disconnecting the Coolant Temp Sensor. If the sensor is bad, having it unplugged should allow the car to turn over right away, best part it's free to test

Re: 94 B6 DOHC No power and dies randomly
Try unplugging the Coolant Temp Sensor. If the sensor is bad I think it will put the engine into shutdown mode. Sounds like you have tried everything else

Re: Car dies when hot, won't restart.
I had the exact same problem as you and for me it turned out to be a bad Coolant Temperature Sensor. I would start the car when it was cold and it would run fine, then after warming up it would either just shut down in the middle of the road or not start again till the engine was stone cold. I guess...

Re: Drain all coolant to replace coolant temperature sensor?
Once I had the wire off the sensor harness I was able to get in there alot better and did not need to remove the fuel rail. I had to end up going out and buying a semi deep well 3/4" socket, since my deep well socket that I had was too long. It was a bugger to get off since the space they gave ...

Re: Drain all coolant to replace coolant temperature sensor?
Well I got it off finally and replaced it and so far so good! :D After much cussing this morning and after breaking off the tiny plastic clips edges on the sensor harness, I went back to the web for about an hour and did some more searching. I found over on clubprotege forums that the sensor harness...

Re: Drain all coolant to replace coolant temperature sensor?
Well I found the sensor you were talking about on the left side of the intake, by injector #1, the question is how the hell do you get to it?! ;) I looks like I am going to have to remove the injectors and the fuel rail just to get in there, but was trying to avoid that. I've never done anything lik...

Re: Drain all coolant to replace coolant temperature sensor?
Thanks mudflap! Is it the same part number as the one that I outlined in the picture? I guess I am trying to ask if they use the same sensor in all 3 places or is each sensor different?

Re: Drain all coolant to replace coolant temperature sensor?
Hmmm injector #1? The one I am looking at is right by the thermostat. That is the one that shows in the online manual that is posted here. It is close to a spark plug well. I was going to replace the one that I circled in red in the pic below: http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u251/Hadrien9/mx3cts....

Re: Drain all coolant to replace coolant temperature sensor?
Should I run the car with the radiator cap off for a bit once I do that to allow any air bubbles out?

Drain all coolant to replace coolant temperature sensor?
First off I will start with what I have: 1992 MX-3 1.6L 4CYL with 5SP Transmission Uber basic transportation to and from work, that's all. I'm just hoping to make it a bit more reliable after recent events. Few days ago the car would not want to start without giving it alot of gas after it had been ...

[WTB] - Center Console Trim piece for '92 MX-3
Some hooligan stole the stereo out of my MX-3 this morning. I could care less about the POS stereo he stole, but he chipped up the plastic trim piece all around it. I have black plastic shards all over my floor now, friggin kids. Im not really sure what to call the piece, but it looks like its just ...
