As far as I can remember back, and that would be since the start of this site.
no one with a K8, stock or otherwise modified, without the help of FI or nitrous
has done that. My best time before adding the turbo setup was 16.0 and I remember
a couple of high 15 second passes by old members.

andy, without the help of : slicks, FI , nitrous or some other stuff ... i want to get into the 14's ... i dont care if it is 14.999, but i want 14's ... :freak: :welder:

it takes approximatly 10hp per .1 second improvement in the quarter mile.
That means you will need to make approx 50 hp more than currently making.
Hard to believe but not impossible.
You could do this with a combination of weight loss and power gain.
Each 100 lbs of weight loss is approximatly 10 hp gained or .1 second improvement
in the quarter mile.
So lose 500 lbs off the car and you are there, or a combination of power gain
and weight loss.
The lightest MX-3 I've seen is 2200 lbs.

andy, thanks for the serious post.
I will weight my car when it's ready for the drag race ... but i dont think ill go below 2500 lbs
after my mods, ill see what time i get, and i will not give up untill i get the 14's ...
dont forget that, i will add at least torque with my mods, but i did not make the perfect launch on the 15.567 race ... it is improvable ;)
with a better launch, some more torque and maybe 2 or 3 bhp more ... ill get there :)

u can try kl-31 cams and a KL TB or get ur K8 one bored that will help u with high end power but u will lose torque dont count on making more torque on a k8 unless u get it stroked or somethin

u dont want slicks but have u thought of investing in a good set of street tires? << this is the biggest thing u can do to get a 14.. its not cheating there not slicks just a normal summer tire thats sticky as hell

and if u want 14 like this is to help dont concentrate on time think of mods that will bring ur trap speed up.. ur trap determines what kind of times ur car will get once u have a good trap thats capable of a 14 then work on ur driving skills to launch it.. remember the higher ur traps the more power ur car has the better ur times shows how good of a driver u are ;)

I will try the drag again with these tires, if i cant go below 15.00 i will try it with another set
I can only say that i am gettin really fired up about the next DragRacingShow with new parts... the next 30th of March will be another, but i dont have the parts yet :|
Dont forget, my car has only "to be loud" mods... it has the 666 and NetoSport stickers, but that sportshop hasnt touched my car yet
I can only say that i really trust the 666 team mechanic, and he will give my car some extrawork to make me proud :D

hey outlaw on vitalmotion here a local club has a 1/4mile database and dyno database.. the guys were all about 1/4 mile racing and this is just a guideline what there traps versus times are on street tires u can also take in they cud do about .2 better at best on street

so to get a 14.9 ppl on average are trappin about 91-92mph so u need to gain about 6-7mph which is about what?? say about 20-30horse? just gives u an idea

on my KL-DE i had i trapped a best of 92.6 and usually 91mph and that was a strong de when i first had it in and there rated about 164hp and i still had a cai and 2.5'' cat back i got 2.3 60 footers and had only 15.1 :/ just gives an idea of whats needed to be accomplished.. hope this helps some :)

Outlaw, a full 1/4 mile slip of reaction, 60' and stuff would help

Dragracing is a art and a science, you would have to put the MX3
on a serious diet, remove all sound deadening

remove the sunroof if fitted.
remove the stock seats and fit a racepro or similar
remove the stock fuel tank and replace with a small Jaz cell.
remove the glass from the stock hatch ( thats 40kgs of glass as i have measured it )
remove the dash ( thats another 10kg's )
cut the rear wheel well out and replace with aluminium complete trunk area
